Description
Porphyridium cruentum is a red algae from the Porphyridiophyceae family. It is an extremophile that thrives in harsh environmental conditions characterized by high salt, heat and light. It can survive these stressors because the algae is surrounded by a nutrient-rich protective capsule of sulfated polysaccharides. ALRedux is an extraction of these polysaccharides in a purified state that act as a line of defense for aggressors such as inflammation, oxidation and enzymes that break down the dermal matrix.
ALRedux is produced via sustainable practices including outdoor cultivation of the microalgae in advanced thin film photobioreactors with sunlight driving photosynthesis. Unlike cultivation in open ponds and/or wild harvest of seaweed which are not the most environmentally or socio-economically sound practices, ALRedux uses only closed photobioreactor technology, offering process sustainability, improved productivity and better yield predictability. It is a 100% natural process made without any solvents.
