BAMBOO EXFOLIATOR

Bamboo are giant, fast growing grasses with woody stems. They originate from the hill forests of India but more than 100 different species are described in the tropical zones, from the subcontinent to the islands of the Pacific Ocean. The woody, hollow aerial stems of bamboo grow in branching clusters from a thick underground rhizome. The largest stems can reach 40m high. Although they grow quickly (2 meters per week), most bamboo flower and produce seeds only once in their lifetime.

East Asian artists and poets have long celebrated the beauty of Bamboo. It finds many uses: from cooked young shoots as delicate vegetables, to pulped fibers to make fine quality paper or for building houses, rafts as well as for making buckets, pipes and furniture.

Certain female bamboo contain a white secretion in their joints called Tabasheer. It consists almost of pure silica (around 96%) and has been used traditionally in Indian phytotherapy for its remineralizing properties in treatment of arthritis, osteoporosis and for strengthening hair and nails.
